Centre of the frame is filled by 2 mushroom shaped fungi.  They are on a fallen tree trunk which slopes from top left to bottom right of the image.  One fungus is above and to the left of the other, the cap pushing out over the lower.  The caps are peach pink with a mesh of thick white fibres over the surface creating a crazed appearance.  The strands are up to a couple of millimetres thick and raised.  The stem is white with bright scarlet droplets on the surface.  The white gills are just visible, more so on the upper fungus.

Wrinkled Peaches

DescriptionSitting on the beeches... Not quite what the Stranglers were thinking of I suspect. I love the texture and colour, from the white and peach cap to the drops of bright red liquid on the stalk, these are such a treat for the eyes.
