The scene shows 2 dragonflies facing each other diagonally from upper left to lower right. Both have their abdomens curved beneath them into the water. The water is full of water lily foliage and stems and the abdomens are inserted into a stem of one. The dragonflies have yellow faces, blue and green thoraxes, and blue, brown, green and yellow abdomens.

I'm Here ForYou Darling

DescriptionAnother touching moment. The female Emperor dragonfly is laying eggs into a lily pad stem, and the male is fertilising them. One of my friends says I have a habit of catching my subjects in flagrante, but I think it is just more interesting to capture behaviour if you can. These are the largest British native dragonfly, and possibly one of the more diverse colour schemes. This is near Copper Mill Lock, not the rainforest, despite the light and colours.
