A riot of spikes. This is taken looking down on a young teasel. The overall colour is a centre of bright green fading through yellow to white, covered in a mass of red edged spikes.

Teasel

DescriptionStrictly this isn't quite a flower, it is a flower cluster head. This is a teasel before the flowers themselves have opened so this is the structure of the seed head before there are even buds visible. The actual flowers when they appear are a mid pink, by which time the seed head has settled to a uniform green tone and these wonderful colours have faded.
