| Description | The time of brown butterflies has arrived. There are heaths, browns and gatekeepers all over the meadow. From this I'm not sure what these are. The underwing pattern and spot on the upper individual are gatekeeper, but I cannot find a species where the opposing sex is a plain dark brown, without a lot more spots on the under rear wing. So I'm not sure what this couple are. Not enough evidence for a good id, and enough unusual elements to make it interesting. This was just after dusk on the south of Horvil Road, which is very overgrown at present, and full of life. Reprocessed in Linear Mode in Affinity. |
