| Description | This is a sleeping marbled white perched on a leaf. It's completely zonked, not aware of me at all. Hence being able to get the Raynox equipped 60mm almost touching. In fact I did get closer, but those images were unusable because they are too close for the lighting. Of course without artificial light, in daylight, you don't get a butterfly sat like this. I might be able to get closer using the Manfrotto LEDs, by rigging a gantry like I do for studio work, but that's going to be large and cumbersome in the field. Focus stacking would be nice, but handheld I'm struggling at these magnifications. I could really do with a better ring light, like the one that came with the Mitakon, but that one is still hors combat waiting for the manufacturer to answer my periodic contacts, all of which have so far fallen on stony ground sadly. Reprocessed in Linear mode, and the crop changed. I decided that while I like square crop and the mono nature lent itself to square, this has more character slightly less straightenend and cropped. |
