DescriptionI went up to Stockers again since the sun was out. Lot fewer people there, and most being considerate so was able to shoot a lot round the lake. Avoided the canal path, but did see a kingfisher belting up the river at Mach 3. Little Egrets were out in numbers which shows how much quieter it is. Got back just ahead of the thunderstorm that rolled in with rain bouncing 6 inches back into the air. This was taken in HD mode handheld giving a 50Mp original before processing. I have been somewhat annoyed by the idiots online who have leapt on the Canon f11 announcement suggesting that a lens with such a poor aperture can compete with the Olympus because f5.6 is somehow the same as f11, but I would assert only if you are stupid, or pushing an agenda. Given that f number is a physical property, then f5.6 is f5.6. In terms of depth of field and noise the larger Canon sensor on the top of the line body may compete, but the entry level that the f11 is aimed at will surely be everything you can expect of an f11 lens, regardless of the sensor behind it. Anyway this surely is equivalent to the top of the range Canon full frame kit, so lets move on, and see if we cannot starve the idiots of the oxygen of publicity for their ignorant opinions.
