Description | The winter solstice, day after the closest approach of Saturn and Jupiter in the sky for this convergence, and it hs been raining since sun down yesterday and is forecast to carry on all day. This is therefore a random indoor idea. The subject is a ball head from my Billingham walking stick cum monopod that has been lying around for 20 years or so. While setting the shot up the AF was really struggling to find anything to key on, weirdly, and I rather liked the out of focus look, so I shot this. Ball is lit by a single LED torch, and the area is masked off with white foamboard to control other reflections. The days start getting longer from now on, which despite them getting colder, always perks me up. |
