Description | After a sleepless night, which I cannot explain, I drifted off book in hand several times, but woke up as soon as I switched the light off. Ended up making a cup of tea at 3am, which seemed to help settle me, with a couple of biscuits because I was ravenous too. When I did drift off sometime after 4, I did sleep till I suppose 9 ish, then dozed for a while. It was lunchtime before I really got going at all, so decided to stay in and do some sysadmin and processing, updating camera and lenses, software that is still being updated, and odds and ends. This is a still life idea from a few days ago, cannellini, borlotti and kidney beans layered in that 8 sided jam jar. This time the low lights have really captured the green of the glass, as well as the bean colours. Jar on a black foam board, raised on scissor platform, lights low and shining slightly up from either side, black foamboard blanking off reflections from outside, polarizer on lens to cut down the glare. Expect pulses and grains to appear again over the next few weeks. |
