Red Cracked Bolete

Red Cracked Bolete

DescriptionI found these when I was walking around and made a note of where to come back to with the macro kit, as I thought they were Devils Boletes from the colour.  However, having now shot them and checked the red flesh, bruise colour and pore colour makes me more inclined to think they are a bit less toxic, but no less pretty.  Growing under oak and beech up at the top of Mad Bess Wood.  This is a 1:2 macro shot using the Manfrotto light to get some illumination under the foliage, and about 60 images stacked.  Despite that I missed focus on the top left and bottom right, so this is cropped.  Quite a lot of post processing of colour too to try and recover the colours in the original fungus, since sharpening was emphasising the shadows a bit much.
