Description | Followed the Old Shire Lane from Tilehouse Lane to where it is diverted by HS2. The diversion takes you under the M25, eventually, after going through all the nettles. From there it goes left and up onto the main road, or right and into some meadows, full of unusual flowers and birds, or at least unusual in so much as it is chalk upland, unlike Harefield. Worth going back with the long lens. Seems to be a big farm that has been abandoned to fly tipping and wildlife. Though getting to it is a bit of a pain. There is a footpath route, but rather bumpy from the north end, or the south end there may be a path, but there are also loose horses. |
