DescriptionThe bridge over Moorhall Road.  I went out halfway through watching the Great British Photography Challenge.  During the episode the contestants were given a task to shoot flowers, and one of them shot roses against a white wall.  It was getting huge praise despite looking totally blown out with no detail visible in the rose and the colours obviously hyper saturated.  At least on my screen.  I've been trying to find the image online, but I doubt it exists outside social media.  Suffice to say while the compostion was good the actual content looked mishandled.  So seeing this beauty straining for the sun on the edge of the tree shade on the bridge made it a bit of a no-brainer to shoot, and this one was properly exposed with details in the petals.  I had not heard of 'Rankin' before lockdown when he ran social media photography challenges.  I watched the first one and was not impressed.  This series, while agreeing with the not voting people off, is still missing the mark for me.  It clearly comes from Rankins own limited range of photography, commercial people photography publishing via magazines or social media, so sadly while it ticks some boxes, it fails for me, though it is less naff than Masters of (commerical people) Photography.
