A tall white mushroom fills the frame. There is a narrow stem supporting a very broad filled cap. The foliage beneath and beyond is golden brown, with occasional mid green hues, and vanished out of focus beyond the mushroom. The stem is maybe 5mm wide, and has a distinctive snakeskin like texture with a broad ring hanging down from around two thirds of the way up the stem, where the cap would have joined the stem before opening. The collar is smooth and off white. The cap has a smooth upper surface with a slightly sickly sheen to it and a slight umbro. The outer edge of the cap is raised slightly showing well defined deep white gills. There is a little brownish discoloration to the rear of the cap.
