| Description | One of those summer days where you see a new species very quickly. I walked over the road and started up the back lane to the church. This beauty buzzed me and landed on the path to be photographed almost immediately. At first glance I thought it was another common darter, but on second glance the colour and shape seemed off. After much poring, I think therefore this is a ruddy darter. Regardless of identification, very pretty. |
