| Description | You might think turning this to mono loses something, but since these are about as straight black and white as anything I have seen in nature, you are not. This is one of the few solitary caterpillars I have found, they are doing a sterling job en masse of reducing the nettle population over on the farm fields. At least where they have not been mown, or ridden over by illegal trail bikers. Still I am wondering what the survival rate is like because there are so many we will be walking on a carpet of peacocks when they all transform. Which definitely will be a colour image. |
