Diffuse Flash

Diffuse Flash

DescriptionI built another flash diffuser with a telescoping section to make it more portable and less likely to get damaged.  Bearing in mind this is shirt cardboard and sellotape with greaseproof paper as a diffuser.  It works nicely with the 60mm alone, with the Raynox and the extension tubes now, though it still has some problems with being a big protusion above the lens, and so doesn't help in some places.  The other issue is despite the diffusion it is still a directional light source, and I don't have a reflector beneath the subject.  In fact for many subjects that would be impossible.  So it is not universally usable, but is better than a simple diffuser on the flash itself.  I find myself swapping that and the ring flash for different uses, and now I have a set of rails I can use the LEDs for continuous lighting, e.g. for video or bracketing.  Anyway, this is the Raynox on the 60mm shooting into space.
